Lovro Artuković was born in Zagreb, where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1983 at the Department of Graphic Arts. After working for a while as a freelance artist, and as a teacher at the School of Applied Arts, from 1994 to 2003 he worked as an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.

That same year he left Zagreb and so far lives and works as a freelance artist in Berlin.
